Our battery storage systems operate in a grid-supportive manner, helping to reduce overall system costs in the energy grid. Using our proprietary Digital Twin, grid bottlenecks can be precisely predicted, allowing for optimal coordination between storage operation and grid demand. This targeted approach helps to avoid redispatch costs.

Reduced CO2 Emissions

Our large-scale battery storage systems contribute to the decarbonization of the energy supply. They make electricity from renewable sources such as wind or solar available even when there is no wind or sunlight. In doing so, they replace fossil power plants.

Reduced Grid Expansion Needs

Our large-scale battery storage systems smooth out load peaks in distribution grids. Market-linked storage systems charge counter-cyclically during periods of high wind and solar generation. This relieves existing grid nodes, allows for more renewable installations to be connected, and helps avoid costly grid expansion.

Less curtailment

When there is a high supply of wind and solar power, our large-scale battery storage systems use the simultaneously low market prices to charge. This relieves the local grids around the storage systems, preventing curtailment of wind and solar plants. As a result, clean electricity can be transported through relieved networks to consumption centers.

Stable local grids

Our large-scale battery storage systems act as essential buffers to smooth local voltage fluctuations. Regional grids become more robust the more storage systems are connected to them. With the upcoming introduction of a reactive power market, this grid-supportive behavior will be further rewarded.

Robust design

The strength of our system lies in its robust and modular construction, as well as in a sophisticated cooling concept. This allows the systems to operate continuously, without daily restrictions on power or cycling frequency, achieving the best price spreads on the spot market, a key factor for the economic viability of battery storage.

Our projects

ECO STOR develops and constructs storage projects throughout Germany. Each of our systems typically has a standard capacity of 238 MWh. Thanks to their modular design, these systems can be easily scaled up to 300 MWh to meet specific project requirements. Our goal is to establish 30 sites across Germany with a total capacity of 10 GWh by 2030.
